Brooklyn based instrumental quartet Chromatropic formed in 2010. Over the last three years, four musicians with conflicting tastes have developed a unique sound that forges elements of jazz, funk, house, DnB and ambient. 2013 has been a breakout year for Chromatropic who have shared the stage with such notable acts as Dopapod, Consider the Source, EOTO and Break Science.  With their custom light show and a focus on hi-fidelity audio, Chromatropic has quickly gained a reputation as a polished, professional, yet musically risk taking outfit.

Go Man Go is a rock funk soul band that formed in 2011, when Boris brought together two groups of musicians for a basement jam session. Shinhey, Mark and Dave had been part of a cover project at Rutgers, while Ric and Nate had worked together with several different groups at Lehigh.  The varying musical backgrounds and influences of the members has helped Go Man Go create a sound that is uniquely their own.

Reminisce Reggae is back. As the story goes, the the historic afternoon reggae party was the brainchild of Marcus Linial back in '95 at the Upper East Side venue, Reminisce Lounge. Marcus’ idea quickly blossomed and a weekly Sunday afternoon reggae party began, including performances by some rad bands like City Heat and Junior Jazz. The party, which expanded from a crowd of 50 to 300 people every Sunday, soon maxed it's capacity and reined as a major gathering place for the neighborhood and reggae community as a whole. Eventually the party was moved to a large venue, Shine, but lost it's original charm. While it was shortly resurrected in 2013 at Linial’s other venue, Canal Room, the time is now to bring the party back with a fresh twist.

The band, Robin Andre & The Reggae Rockers play tribute to all the past reggae legends like Bob Marley & The Wailers, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff, Toots and The Maytals and UB40 but are also throwing in some reggae versions on artists like Adele and Coldplay. Now after many years the charm of the afternoon party is back.

Come party Sunday afternoon, Sept 25th for some top drawer throwbacks. See you there, NYC.

DAVID RYAN HARRIS is internationally recognized for playing guitar and singing in John Mayer’s band (2004-2012), released his fourth full-length album, Lightyears, in the fall of 2015. The soulful 11-track album includes co-writes with Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and Tyler Lyle, as well as guest appearances by John Mayer, Indie.Arie and Nikka Costa. Elmore Magazine calls Lightyears a look at “Harris doing what he does best… performing alone with his guitar, singing beautiful and all-too-real lyrics.” David Ryan Harris began his music career in 1991 when he co-founded band Follow For Now, but in 1997 embarked on his journey as a solo artist when he signed with Columbia Records and released his first self-titled record. He has since had the pleasure of writing with, playing with and/or producing artists from Dave Matthews, Cassandra Wilson, Santana, Marc Broussard, and Guy Sebastian.  Harris will release his next album in September of 2016.

GABE DIXON released his sophomore solo album, Turns To Gold, on April 8th, marking his first official collection as an independent artist, put out on his own Rolling Ball Records. Turns To Gold is currently featured in Rolling Stone, The Huffington Post, American Songwriter, Elmore Magazine, All Music, Relix Magazine, Indie Shuffle, and more. Paste Magazine calls it “heart-wrenchingly honest,” and No Depression says it’s “simply an exceptional album” with “all the makings of a big breakthrough.” Gabe's songs have been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, CW and more, and his song “Find My Way” served as the song for the opening credits for the box office hit The Proposal starring Sandra Bullock. He's appeared twice on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, as well as The Late Show with Craig Ferguson and Last Call with Carson Daly.

“Classic Rock” takes on a whole new meaning when Break of Reality hits the stage. The quartet’s boundary breaking music blends classical technique and rock’n’roll into something that brings together the best of both genres.

They appear on stage without the music stands or formal dress of a classical group and they talk to the audience like friends, spinning tales that illuminate the music they play, be it an original composition, a song by Tool or Radiohead, or a J. S. Bach arrangement. Critics have called them alt-classical, cello rock and indie-classical, but even the band isn’t sure what genre they fall into.

When asked how he categorizes Break of Reality, percussionist Ivan Trevino’s response is usually: “I don’t. Our sound came naturally from studying classical music by day in school and going to rock clubs by night. We’ve all heard classical musicians try to arrange rock music, but they often lack the soul. It can sometimes sound like classical musicians sight reading rock charts. We’re classically trained musicians, but also understand and love the raw qualities of rock; this dichotomy is very clear in our sound.”

“Break of Reality started at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY,” Trevino explains. “Patrick Laird, one of our founding members, was in the orchestra and asked friends to play some rock charts he’d arranged. The first gig was without a percussionist. He immediately knew he wanted the energy of a drummer to drive the sound he was hearing. I was one of the few ‘rockers’ at Eastman, so he asked me to play. At first, we were a heavy metal cello band. We had amps, we were loud and played rock covers or original rock tunes. Slowly, our classical side crept into what we were doing for a more all-encompassing sound. We’re still rockin’, but with more nuance.”

Hailing from Norfolk, VA, Major and the Monbacks have created their own blend of rock n roll, merging retro 60’s rock n roll, psychedelic twang, soaring three-part harmonies, and the high energy and horn laden grit of southern soul. With three songwriters all switching between lead and backing vocal duties, as well as a full 8-piece touring ensemble that includes a lively horn section and a powerful rhythm section comprised of both a drummer and full time percussion player, the Monbacks have honed a very unique and timeless sound.

Based in Richmond, Virginia, No BS! Brass Band has quickly earned a reputation as a premiere band to see for heart-pounding energy and uncontrollable dancing. They take their music into uncharted territory, embracing the spirit of New Orleans into its original East Coast modern funk and fearlessly combining elements of James Brown, John Coltrane, Michael Jackson, and Led Zeppelin into their fiercely original sound.

The Kansas Bible Company is a psychedelic rock and roll band with brass. "KBC" combines heavy guitar, propulsive horn lines and poppy melodies in a genre bending mélange that produces sounds both new and familiar. The seven piece resides in Nashville, TN. Their upcoming record, Paper Moon, is their boldest project yet.

Recorded in Los Angeles in 2014, Pat McGeewas influenced by the classic albums of the 1970s that were spun in his childhood home.  “I was inspired to write a record that was not based on a ‘single’ but on the wholeness of the complete album,” Pat explains.  “I was at a friend’s house, listening to what I thought was someone’s playlist on an iPod. When I realized they were spinning full albums on vinyl, I was blown away.  The very next day, I decided to buy a record player and picked up the ten records that lit the fire in me to start playing music, including seminal records by James Taylor, Jackson Browne, and Crosby, Stills, and Nash.”

Channeling the vintage warmth of those recordings, he began writing an album that would have the same timeless quality of singer/songwriter rock from the Laurel Canyon scene of the early 70s.

Inspired by the vibrant musical communities of Brooklyn and New Orleans, we've put the focus on the artists, bringing over 50 musicians together, allowing them to create their own groups and concepts, and encouraging new collaborations with a spirit of community - so expect the unexpected. Our lineup includes members of Dead & Company, The String Cheese Incident, The Disco Biscuits, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Lettuce, Soulive, Medeski Martin & Wood, Snarky Puppy, and many, many more.

Purchasing a ticket to Brooklyn Comes Alive gets you a wristband that allows access to three venues: Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall of Williamsburg, and The Hall at MP. Wristband-holders can come-and-go from all three venues throughout the event, jumping back and forth to catch their favorite bands. (Note: Some venues may reach capacity, so make sure you arrive at your most desired sets early to ensure a spot, although you'll will always be guaranteed a spot at one of our venues).

Music starts at noon at The Hall at MP, which will host a brunch both inside The Hall, and at the adjoining restaurant MP Taverna, featuring a unique dining experience from Michelin Star chef Michael Psilakis. Don't worry - If you're eating at the restaurant, we'll be pumping live concert audio into the dining room so you can jam out while you eat. If you get hungry later in the evening, MP Taverna will also be open for dinner.

After brunch, Brooklyn Bowl and Music Hall of Williamsburg will open up in the early evening, and all three venues will remain open all night long.

Both The Hall at MP and Music Hall of Williamsburg are 18+ venues, while the Brooklyn Bowl is strictly 21+. If you are between the ages of 18 and 21, you are welcome to purchase a ticket, however you will not be allowed access to the Brooklyn Bowl.
